A free-space project is basically like a Project (ie. a place where WikiTreers can work together on some particular area of interest), but without the requirements involved in creating one. You don't need a Leader or anything. Anyone can create a free space project and get others involved. Eventually it might become a full-scale project, or it might be too specific for that and continue to run as a free-space project. There's a help page about them here: Free-Space Projects.

You can literally write about anything related to genealogy on these free space pages. including anything to do with your ancestors or relatives.

Other pages have been done for One Name studies and One Place studies.

I am sure I have also seen one page about someones dog!! LOL
That is true of free-space pages, but free-space projects are a specific use of free-space pages.
