Merryl has boundless energy and has helped many 'Hunkins'[ to learn more about their ancestry for a few years now. I thank here for that and the help she has given me and many, many others. My interest is to research and build the family tree especially for Hunkin but also Preston, Cawthra, and Mitchel. The family roots are in Cornwall, Yorkshire and Lancashire. I live in Canada. Quebec City although nearly all my life was growing up and living in East Toronto. Although seventy-five years old I am working towards full retirement when I hope to be able immerse myself in the family history and begin to make the connections to the earlier family history. I guess my question is am related to that one (or more) rogue Hunkins, perhaps a pirate, some Spanish ancestry(Armada)? I would also be interested in any ancestor with Naval or military service from the Crimea to WW2. I believe many Hunkins were of the sea.My family it seems were of the clay works-one being Captain of the clayworks.
