Can I merge Dodson-988 and Dodson-570 with Dodson-16?

Question

I am not sure whether a triple merge is the way to do this.  Perhaps I should first merge Dodson-988 with Dodson-570 and then merge the resulting Dodson-570 with Dodson-16.??

Dodson-570 and Dodson-16 don't look alike to me. They have totally different death dates.

The correct way to do a three profile (or more) merge is to determine first the correct spelling, then the lowest number using that spelling. Then merge the extra profiles into the lowest number with the correct spelling.

If these were the same person, you would merge Dodson-988 into Dodson-16 and Dodson-570 into Dodson-16

David, there is an inconsistency between the recommendation of merge direction you have given here and the direction given in the guidelines you link to. The guidelines are consistent with Anne’s advice above to each of the others into the lowest number.
