I have a problem as i have just received a private message and have been told after months that he is not the person i was looking for could someone help me sort this out please chapman-9996 is who i have merged with

all the information is correct with his wife etc just not him as a member of wikitree

Not sure what you mean by «not correct as a member of Wikitree». Are you saying that you have set up a profile for someone and that you have now had a private message asking you to remove the profile or are you trying to disconnect him?

a living chapman merged with me and he was happy to do it but now he says that he is not the person i was looking for

I was going to add a new profile and found him. I messaged him about merging and he was happy to merge with me. Now because i have put New Zealand relatives he has said he not the one i was looking for. He has done a dna test as well so now i am not sure how to do a new profile to my part of the tree and to remove him

Still not clear whether you just linked him to your part of the tree. Merging is a different process.

Either way, you should give him back control of his own profile before you cut him loose.

I think i have sorted it now as added him as profile manager and removed myself after removing his parents, wife and child and created a new file for mine
