Just saying Hi ...

Question

Hi all,

I am not new, exactly, but I havent formally introduced myself yet. So here I go.

 

My name is Sanne, 39 years old and living in Nieuwegein, the Netherlands.

I've been on WikiTree for over a month now and made it a daily habit allready. I so far have joined Dutch_roots project, Profile Improvement Project and Data Doctors project. Given the profiles I work on and the manor of working on them it is sort of a package deal.

I love data. Allways have. That is probably why genealogy is such a great hobby for me. Been doing it for about six years now.

Yesterday i decided to go for pre-1500 certification as well. I have quite a few profiles to add in that category, so at the moment I am working on my pre-1600 profiles to show that i'm worthy :)

I am also member of Dutch_Roots, but not speaking the language, rely on others for research helps. Thanks for your contributions to the D_R effort, joining a great team of genealogists.

I've been here over a year and still have not qualified for pre-1500. They are tough judges. I cheated and changed the estimated date of birth to 1500 from 1480 just so I would be allowed to enter the data, with a note of what would need update later. :)

No need to speak the language, Weldon, when you have this great group of kindered spirits to help you along here in Dutch Roots. Thanks for your message, and i'm sure you'll get the badge eventually. I just cheated as well setting the birth of an ancestors father to <1600. I could hardly leave it empty coul I? ;)

Hi Sanne,

Great to have you with us on WikiTree and I was pleased to hear that you are going for pre-1500 certification. The requirements are quite strict but if you have well sourced pre-1700 profiles and are active in one or more projects that should serve you well.

Welcome, Sanne! I've just returned from your beautiful country (Delft, exactly). I, too, am a details person and like cleaning up those messy merges and imports. Although I work primarily on Wisconsin, USA profiles, I now know who I can turn to for any help I might need with Niederlanders.

Welcome to the Family. It seems you've already found out how addictive Wikitree is and I'm glad you enlisted for our Dutch Roots project.
