just wondering if anyone has come across the names "TILTMANN" or "WITTKE" in their Prussian ancestry research?

I've got my great-grandfathers name:  Gustav Tiltmann.  All I know is that he was a prisoner of war held in England, then came back to find his family, who ended up being in a refugee camp in Germany.

My great-grandmothers name:  Elma Charlotte? Wittke.  She and her children fled from Prussia as refugees and ended up in the refugee camp in Germany.  She died when my grandfather was about 6 years old (about 1949).

 

Any help regarding these profiles or any information from back then would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have other specific time frame or location information, such as birth years for Gustav and Elma or a marriage year or death years and what country, county and or city these events took place?

Elma and her 4 children, Seigfried, Albert, Reinhard, Alfred, fled Prussia (the poland part) by herself, whilst Gustav was in the army - apparently a POW being held in England.  Gustav was released, and then found them in a Baracken Refugee Camp in Nordhorn, Germany.  Elma died about 1949 in Tannenlager hospital, Nordhorn, Gutersloh, North Rhine-Westphalia, German.  She died from cancer when my grandfather, Reinhard was 6 years old.
