Are there any sources for birth, death, dates, places to document the ancestors of Hannah Simpson, mother of  U.S. Grant, US president ?

Wiki-tree profiles Simpson-483 Simpson-5597 Hines-2685 Hines-174 are perhaps the appropriate ancestors for Hannah Simpson OR maybe there are simply different people with the same names. Thanks

It looks like the ancestor's of Hannah Simpson are pretty much entered correctly according to Robert's book.

Simpson-483 is her great grandfather.

There appears to be a significant disconnect in the wikitree profiles for William Simpson-5597 who has a son John married to Christina Campbell and the profile for William Simpson-483 who has a son John married to Hannah Roberts. Reading through the many books written about the ancestors of Hannah Simpson mother of President U. S. Grant this appears to be a long-standing issue with finding definitive primary sources. Currently I think Helen Augusta Simpson's book "Early records of Simpson families in Scotland, North Ireland, and eastern United States : with a history of the family of the compiler, Helen A. Simpson, and including genealogies of allied families of Hout, Stringer, Potts and Dawson." has substantial research and I wonder if Robert's credited her research.
