How do I merge musgrove-707 to his father in existing musgrove-154?

Question

New here and love it, having problems figuring correct merge procedure. I have added info to my musgrove-707= Clarence Venable Musgrove, and see him, also his father Benjamin Barton Musgrove showing on musgrove-154. Don't want to duplicate, but I have additional info to share.

Is Musgrove -154 Open privacy? If so, you may add the information you have to the profile. If it is not, you should go to the profile for Musgrove-154 and request to be added to the Trusted List. You will then be able to add information.

Also you do not merge a son to his father. There is a procedure for linking them on the Edit version of one of the profiles. Go to Add Child or Add Father and enter the ID number for the correct person.

When adding a new profile there will usually be a list of matches that pop up to compare with the profile you're trying to create.  If you see a match, you can then get the WikiTree ID of the correct person and use it to connect your family to the tree.
