Please Help!

Question

I have looked and looked everywhere... and I am about to just come to the conclusion that the records will never be found!

I can not find either a birth nor a death record for either James Stults born 1798 Virginia, or his wife Frances Davis born about 1802 Tennessee. They were married in Roane county in 1820. he died sometime before the 1880 census and she died before the 1900 census.

This is my last resort, if no one else can find anything I guess I will just have to learn to love this brick wall of mine.

Hi Stephanie, this is not a "real" death cert but it may give you a clue as to where to look further.

US Genweb Archives shows a James W and Frances Davis Stults buried in the Owen Cemetery outside of Gainesboro, Jackson County, Tennessee 

The cemetery is owned by the Mount Union United Methodist Church

They may be able to assist you with a death record.

Birth Certificates and Death Certificates were not required in USA until  after 1915, so there may not be one.  Check church records and see if death is noted
