where can I find more info on Confederate soldiers, for free?

my ancestor is John a Fitzgerald. I believe that he is the same John Fitzgerald listed as a mounted infantry soldier in 1861 from camp Boone Tennessee, 3rd infantry. however nothing is giving me he's military record with his birth or death date so that I can prove this. please help...

Who did John marry ?? His year born.Some Census records they are in,and where in Tennessee.

John aken fitsgerald born 1840, he is from Monroe county Kentucky. he married Sarah Elizabeth Turner. he died 1909 cave city, Kentucky. thank you

born March 1840, His mother Liza age 79,living with them.I do not know

How John A. fits in. Most records show his middle name was Fitz.Gerald

his last name.Also look at 1850 Census,John Geralds,been corrected too

John Fitzgerland,age 8 abt 1842,Father Aiken F. Geralds,Monroe Kentucky.I do not know who you want too use.
