This is my first foray into Irish records and I'm having some issues - hoping someone on WikiTree may be able to help!
My 4xgreat grandfather was Thomas McWaters. He was born roughly between 1811-1812 somewhere in Ireland and immigrated to Ontario, Canada sometime in the 1830s or 1840s perhaps. He died in 1871 in Ontario.
I need help in confirming his parents.
Here is what I think I know:
- Parents /may/ be James McWaters and Sarah McSpeddon/McSpeddan (This is from another family tree - I am trying to confirm/deny this.)
- He married Margaret T. Grier in the mid-1830s, though I am not sure if this was in Ireland or Canada. (His first child was born in about 1838, if that helps.)
- He died in South Dumfries, Brant County, Ontario, Canada in February of 1871.
Here is the list of 3 sources I have so far that I am sure are him:

Notice in one of the Census his surname is noted as "Walters".
Any help in finding Irish records of his birth or perhaps a marriage record would be great.
