Look for information on James Robert Wallis born 1826

Question

James Robert Wallis came to South Africa in 1834, he married Maria Magdalena Frederika Kuun out of this marriage he had 4 children, she died at a very young age. He married a second time Anna Catharina Niemand out of this marriage 10 children were born. Both his wifes were from South Africa.

I would like to know the exact date and the ships name with what he came to South Africa with. Who was his parents

Do you now which contry he left from to come to South Africa? For example if it was England there are pasenger manifestos that can be searched.

 Click on the 12 birth records to view them, although I don't see a James Wallis with the middle name of robert there, although the middle name may have been omitted. Although there are a couple that seem close, eg the Whitechapel parish one

Just an extra little snippet from the "Stamregister van Suid-Afrikaanse Volk"

WALLIS, James (1820), ar. 1834 v. England, van skip gedros (absconded from the ship), tr. KUHN: 4 k

Sounds like he was a "ship's boy" as according to these records he would have been 14 when he jumped ship in South Africa.
