Phelps Family Special Group

Phelps Family - I've just created a special group to build and document the Phelps family in the New World. The family goes back to New England Colonies and to the Southern Colonies. If you have an interest in the Phelps family, please join me and ask to be added to the trusted list. Phelps is my maiden name.

My Phelps family comes from Mississippi / Alabama area.  I am stuck on my great grandmother Williann Phelps.  She married at 15 and there is not a census with her parents.  The first census I have of here is the 1890 after she was married.  I have her death certificate as her mother's name is Cecil Phelps but nothing else.  I would be very interested in joining your trusted list and be able to break through this brick wall.  I have found one other Phelps family in that area and I hope they are cousins or related in some way.

My Weeks who originally came from VtA, SC, and NC and went West to Texas, than known as Tejas or Little Mexico as we were a Mexico Territory until we free our stare from them.  That sounded mean but true.  We knew the true name of  violence against the people back then.

Robert (Calvin) Weeks born in 1806 (have exact date) in NC had a daughter who married Jermiah Jerry Phelps (a lot more names in that line) who married someone in FL and had kids and moved to Newton Co, TX where he met and married Robert's daughter, sister to my Haley Madison Weeks in my Crawford-8175 membership.

I have not research the Phelps beyond this but I have from there on forward.

I would like to join the group. If I have my research correct, Edward Phelps, b. 1620, England, d. 1689, Massachusetts, is my 9th Great Grandfather.
