Why the double entries in merge/match/reject section?

I noticed this a bit ago and forgot to ask about it. Sometimes proposed merges show up twice... this particular profile had a doubled proposed merge & when I changed it to an unmerged match, both proposed merge entries became unmerged match entries. When I noticed this before, I tried to delete one of the entries and both were deleted, so I leave them alone now.  But is this a small glitch that needs attention before it causes a major glitch?  Cheers, Liz

This is a continuation, but if you look at your wikifeed, and a merge is proposed it also shows a double entry.  I am not sure if it's something in the system ie.mirror affect, or what....
the double entry in the feed is because two profiles are involved (each gets an entry on your feed)... the double entry on the profile itself is something new.
Ahhh, the penny drops.  Thanks Liz

Liz, just putting a pretend answer here to get this post out of the unanswered questions list. :-)

Pip, looks like you're going for the title "The Great Pretender".

Hahaha!!! laughlaughlaugh

How the dickens did you ladies find this!?!?
umm, Pip, there's this little thing called a mouse that you can click and when you do, you find all sorts of things.

laugh You so funny! laugh A post from over five years ago.

Activity on a thread causes it to show up in the Genealogy Feed (Nav Home Page and Email) of anyone following the tags on the question. That's how I saw the thread and, I'm guessing, how others saw it.
Pip, you're the one who dredged it up from the bilge … your answer listed it front and center on the questions list so that the rest of us saw it.
Ahhh, I see. Would you believe that for all the anonymous posts I’ve answered I’ve only gotten one response. It’s the Integrators Challenge that’s got me going through all these old posts looking for ones I can answer. Often I came across one that’s been answered in comments that is still in the Unanswered category. That’s why I “answered” this one.
See response to Debi. I work from the oldest posts to find stuff for the Challenge. I start from the end and work forward. Hence, a five-year-old post! You’d be surprised at how many of these are from anonymous posters AND members who are no longer active.
So, if you're taking it out of the unanswered feed... what was the answer? The comments were about the double entry for a merge that you see in your family activity feed, not the glitch I was asking about, where the same pair of profiles are shown more than once in the profile's Match & Merge section. I had another one just yesterday, where I had removed the rejected merge & initiated a new merge but both the proposed merge & rejected merge were showing in the Match & Merge section at the bottom (the profiles have since been merged, so I can't point you to it),

I never did get an answer as to whether it is a glitch that is ok to ignore or one that might cause problems down the road. However, considering how long this question has remained unanswered, probably the former - just ignore it. Hmmm. Seems I've answered myself (even though I'm in no way qualified!).

Should I now close the question even though it never received an answer from someone who would know?

Cheers, Liz
I have seen the double posting this week.  It is probably some form of 'glitch' in the system, but probably not easy to track down.  When you reject one, they will both get rejected because the same wiki IDs are on both of the 'merge records', but if you merge the records, they will both disappear.
Liz, I thought you gave the answer in your comment. Since this is so old, I wonder if the situation is still coming up (after five years). If it is, should it not be brought up in a new post?
