Help with linking photos on a free space page

I've been photographing headstones at some local cemeteries for my own research, but figured other people may find them useful too. I've created a free-space profile, and managed to teach myself the formatting required to display the information in a table. If I added all of my photos of the headstones to the free-space too, is there a way that I can link each photo to the corresponding person in the table?

I think the above may be a silly question! I just realised once I've made profiles for all the people I list in the free-space table, I can add the photos to the individual profile and link the profile to the name in the table. Is this correct?
No questions are ever silly :)

I'm no expert, but that sounds right to me. Gosh, well done you teaching yourself the formatting required to display the information in a table :o From my perspective, that is way impressive!!
Its not a silly question. I, too, commend you for teaching yourself how to learn wikitree.  Me, I see a layout that I like and copy the code.

I'm doing basically the same thing for the Census records of Arkansas that I am transcribing. Finding or creating profiles and linking those profiles in the proper names in each township.

Yes that is correct, we typically do them as abstracts, so to speak.  I added some formatting to your interment table that allows this, so you can see.  SUPER JOB getting this page up Judith!  :)  Lynette you are also correct, copying code can help you learn it and make the process easier. I keep a template of sorts that I utilize when starting a new cemetery space page or helping someone else start one.  Keep up the GREAT work!  It's nice seeing England cemeteries going online!

Hi Judith,

There is a single URL for each image (Photo), e.g.:

URL of the image = https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Oats-4

The URLs can be added to your table following the instructions to create Links to Other websites.

E.g. to enter the link above:

[https://www.wikitree.com/photo/jpg/Oats-4 Headstone of Francis Oats]

The code for incorporating photos into the cemetery table has been added to the page, feel free to view that from the edit tab as an example of adding photos to the cemetery transcription table. :)
Thanks for sharing this Lisa.

Thank you for all your replys, it feels wonderful to feel your efforts are appreciated!

I have made a profile for the first name in the list, made his surname link to his profile and added a photo link into the table. Would someone mind double checking that what I have done is correct before I continue please?

The link works pretty well Judith, but image is 90° rotated.
Yes I've noticed all my images are showing rotated, but when you click them they are the correct way up. Is there a way to fix this?
Ok, I've attempted to rotate it on my PC, even though it displays correctly here. I've rotated it to the right and then uploaded again, the image still uploaded rotated the same way, only this time when I clicked to view the full image it now displays sideways in the other direction as it now appears on my PC.

I'm lost!

Judith,

I downloaded the photo of the Headstone of Francis Oats-4, I rotated it using "Paint", saved the rotated image and uploaded the image again and the image is shown the correct way up as you can see in Francis's images.

So it must be a matter of rotating the image using a different program.

I just rotated with the built in windows photo viewer which is probably where I've gone wrong, Thank you, I will have another look at this and try again with paint.

Hi Judith,

You could also create a Category for the cemetery.

See this page: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:England_Cemeteries

Feel free to message me if you would like assistance with this!!

I have read some How to's, and attempted to do this, though I'm not entirely sure I've done it right! I would appreciate your input if you wouldn't mind taking a look at what I've done.

No problem!!

So you create your category by first putting it in the bio of the person's profile. The first time you put it in it will show up in red font if the Category has not been created yet. Then you click on the red font and follow along until the new category is finished. Since the "accepted naming standard for cemetery categories is: [[Category:Name of Cemetery, Town, State/Region/Province]]", your Category will be [[Category: St. Paul Cemetery, Ludgvan, Cornwall]], which will be sub-categorized under [[Category: Cornwall Cemeteries]].

Clear as mud??

OK, I should probably not try to Wiki while exhausted.

I went back and looked at your original post and found the cemetery you are working on, St. Hilary. I see you have made the Category page, and it looks good!
