I can find where James Madison Cannon was born, [1815 Blount Co, TN] and I know he died in Texas in 1855 - but it seems the records for Blount Co, were lost/burned in the Civil War and no one seems to have any idea who his parents were?

Oh, my goodness, these Cannons are hard to track down. Is he a junior of the James Madison Cannon married to a Middlebrooks, b. 1799? He seems like a wily type, which makes documentation hard. That would make your James Madison my ancestor's brother. I'm working on building out his siblings now.
My great grandfather was Taylor Levator Cannon. son of:

James Madison Cannon.  Check at genealogy.com for:

Report on the Descendants of Edward Cannon.

Furthermore seek information from Warren (Grundy) County, TN.  Hopefully this will help in your quest.  Good Luck!

uhhh, thank you random genealogy angel! Happy Valentines!!

I am too new at this to see if Cannon-2600 might be in my line. I do a search but can't get to names, Assistance would be welcome.

Cannon-958

Everything I’ve found so far seems to put my James Madison Cannon, Jr with a birth date of 1835. But there were a lot of Cannons and they liked the revolutionaries’ names. My ancestors are Thomas Jefferson Cannon and the first James Madison Cannon.
