I believe there is confusion between Ethelinda Clements and her sister Mary Ann Clement, both married a George Black, which makes it very confusing.  But I hope to clear it up.

1st Ethelinda Clement was married to a George Black on

13 May 1835 • Clark County, IL

2nd Mary Ann Clement was married to her George Black on

18 February 1835 • Clark Co, Illinois

The 1850 Federal State Census will also clear this up, because they could NOT be in two different places at the same time, especially, when they are like 100 miles away from each other.   I do have the Census for both of them if anyone wants a copy.   Anyway,  Ethelinda Clement was with her George Black during the 1850 Federal State Census 18 Sep 1850 • Edgar Co., Illinois, While Mary Ann Clement was with her George Black 24 August 1850 • Reynolds Co., Missouri.   If you look at the dates you would see that it would not be possible for them to bee the same person.   If any one needs copies of those two Census.  Please let me know.  Sincerely.  Cathi (Clements) Gross

Hope that helps to clear that problem up.  :-)

Just to clear something else, A person can be listed in two place is the Census, My GGG grandfather in 1850 was in California for the Gold Rush and was listed on a census there, while his wife in Missouri listed him at home in the Census P. Elliott

2. Elizabeth 10, ILL

3. Margaret 9, ILL

Also how do you explain the marriage of a George Black of Clark County Illinois to Dicy Wight:

20 July 1854 • Clark Co., IL

Illinois State Archives Groom: BLACK, GEORGE Bride: RIGHT, DICY Date: 1854-07-20 Vol.: 2 Page: 205 County: CLARK http://www.ilsos.gov/isavital/marriageSearch.do

I believe Ethelinda Clement and Mary Ann Clements are two different Women and need to be treated as such.  But I know others disagree.   I just would like to see more proof one way or another.   I just don't feel right making them the same person.   I believe there were two George Blacks too.   But I could be wrong. :-) It wouldn't be the first time.
