I have per an old Bible listing the birth and death dates of Sarah Roberts who married in 1819 (likely in Clifford) John W. Wells, son of Abraham Wells. They were ggg-grandparents of mine. Their children (at least those who survived), born in Clifford or Dundaff, were Luther Stark, Hannah Mahala [m. Joslin], Nancy Minerva, Corydon Hiram, George A., Erastus West, and John Calvin.

A younger brother or half-brother of John W. Wells -- Hiram Wells -- married one of the Hardings, Welthy in Ohio in 1835 (it was her second marriage). She was a younger sister of your George Tryon Harding. A letter written by Abraham to his son John W. Wells in 1824 indicates that the Wellses and Hardings were fairly close.

There certainly do seem to be entanglements between our two lines. Abraham Wells, the father-in-law of my Sarah Roberts, was baptized at Machackemeck/Minisink in 1774, then lived with his family in, I'm pretty sure, both Upper Smithfield, PA, on the Delaware River and in or near Tunkhannock.

But all I have for Sarah is her birth, marriage and death dates and her marriage and death places. No parents or birth place.
