Does proof exist of Susannah Norwood's (b. c1639) parents?

Hello,

I would love to know whether Susannah Norwood’s (b. c1639) ancestors are correct on WikiTree; if so, they lead to Magna Carta surety barons! Through a known genealogical society, I have already proven my own ancestry through Katharine Greenberry (b. c1672) and her husband John Howard, II.

Does proof exist that John Norwood, I (Sr.), b. c1605, and wife Ann Harrington are the parents of Susannah Norwood?

Many thanks! -- L. Price

Clearly there's no evidence for Susannah's birth or parents.

Her father is also a problem - we've got him in the Gloucestershire family, although his bio clearly says he was born in Lincolnshire to different parents.
Page 69 of Founders of Anne Arundel and Howard Counties, Maryland (by Joshua Dorsey Warfield) states..."Upon the death of Charles Stephens, John Howard married Susannah Stephens, the widow. She was the heir of Captain John Norwood. The only issue of John and Susannah Howard was Captain John Howard, Jr." (Note: I tried to copy and paste, but I didn't have success.)  --L. Price
If she was the heir, then we need to lose her brother.  But maybe we should, because he's supposed to come from Gloucestershire, not Lincolnshire.

The internet seems to have got Anne Harrington touring the country marrying every John Norwood she could get her hands on.
Thanks, everyone, for the input! Actually, I was focusing on proving the Norwood descendants of William Norwood/Elizabeth Lygon (dau of William Lygon m Eleanor Dennis). I believe their son Richard Norwood m. Elizabeth Steward/Stuard. Their son John Howard, Sr., m. Ann(e) Harrington. And, their son John Howard, Jr., m. Susannah Norwood. Please see the flowchart on pages 177, 118 of The Visitation of Gloucestershire: http://www.belnapfamily.org/Visitation_of_the_County_of_Gloucester_1623.pdf

Whoops. So sorry!!  I MEANT... I believe their son Richard Norwood m. Elizabeth Steward/Stuard. Their son John Norwood m. Ann(e) Harrington. And, their daughter Susannah Norwood m John Howard, I. John Howard, II, married Katherine Greenberry.

Why are we showing Henry as Robert Henry?

This might help in a negative sort of way

Maddison on Norwood of Wykeham

https://archive.org/stream/lincolnshirepedi51madd#page/728/

John Norwood, 6th son, married a daughter of Tyringham of Tyringham and had a son Tyringham Norwood.  Can't be too many of those.

He isn't given a son called John.

He does have a daughter Frances who married a John Harrington, also of Wykeham

https://archive.org/stream/lincolnshirepedi51madd#page/462/

They had a daughter, Anne Harrington.  But she was a granddaughter of old Tyringham Norwood, so if she married one of his sons, she married her uncle.  Perhaps there was a grandson John.

Bit alarming to read that the Vikings were still raping and pillaging in 1311.

It's rumoured that the chapel roof fell in after a wedding party danced on it the night before.  Probably Viking descendants.

Actually the bio suggests that Anne Harrington's husband John Norwood could have been the son of Tyringham's brother William.  If she was in fact Tyringham's granddaughter, that would make them 1st cousins once removed, which is plausible.  Uncles didn't marry nieces unless they were Habsburgs.
