My ggggrandfather was John Benson Tidwell, b.1785 in Fairfield Co, South Carolina.  He alledgely married a Gibson (May Belle? 1795 Georgia).  They had one child - Mansel Tidwell, b 1814 in Fairfield Co, South Carolina.  I'm not even sure of the accuratacy of her name.  I'm basing it on a court document that my ggrandfather stated that his grandmother was _ Gibson.  Is their anyone out there with any info or ideas?  This Mansel was not the son of Youngdeer.  His ggrandfather was Edmund Tidwell Sr.

I did a Y-dna test and match tidwells my Gibson line I can only trace back to my GGGG-GF Joseph Fisher Gibson B: abt 1793 ? But With my Y-DNA I match to JORDAN GIBSON AND A GIBBY OR GIBSON GIBSON. I ALSO HAVE MATCHES TO EVANS, CHAVIS, CHILDERS/CHILDRESS.. IF YOU KNOW THE GIBSON HISTORY WE ARE MIXED WITH THESE NAMES FROM THE EARLY TO LATE 1600 hundreds....
