Do we need to be a Project member to create a Notable's profile? Don Miguel Ruiz

I searched but couldn't find a profile for author Don Miguel Ruiz.  He's the author of one of my favorite books, The Four Agreements, published in 1997.  I would highly recommend it to everyone!  Especially to those involved in any type of collaboration project.

These are the 4 agreements he discusses in the book (they're agreements to be made with yourself):

  1. Be Impeccable With Your Word.
  2. Don't Take Anything Personally.
  3. Don't Make Assumptions.
  4. Always Do Your Best

Anyway, I'd like him to have a profile on WikiTree.  But I am afraid that I may not be able to do it justice.  I'd be willing to assist.  Also, there's the language barrier.

Has anyone here read the book?

Thank you!

As per 2. don't take this personally, but a lot of "fanboys" create wikitree profiles for someone but don't bother to do any research, not even adding parents for the new profile. If you're not willing to do a little research, such as getting access to a biography, on someone famous then don't create their profile. Wikitree is about connections.

[That's just my opinion, not any official policy. Indeed many people seem to think it's great to have as many isolated notables as possible.]
Well, not to take this personally, that is one of the reasons I questioned my qualifications to create the profile.  There is plenty to find on him.  But I'm not experienced in researching Latin America,  Which is where I believe his ancestors are from.

Anyone can create a profile for a Notable - you don't have to be a team member. You can also add the Notables Template to any profile that meets the Notability Standards. On the other hand, it never hurts to join the Notables Team as there's never a shortage of Notables to go around to those who want to work on them.

Mary as Scott said Go ahead and start the profile. There are others who will help if you get too stuck and will enjoy helping. The great thing about working on a site like WikiTree is we each bring our strength to the profiles and the result is usually far better than any one person could do on their own.

Thanks for your great responses, Dale and Scott.  And thank you, Mary, for raising the question.  Yes, I have read the book.  Brilliant. One of those 'can't put it down until I'm finished' types.  All I can say is Go For It.  Start the profile.  Someone will jump in and help.  Keep an eye on the new privacy provisions, though.  Would be a shame to do lots of work that people won't be able to read for years. Regards, Ken
