Please Protect this profile

I have created a profile for Joseph Joslin-391 with information from The History of Waitsfield (Vermont) which I believe to be well-founded.

I was astonished to find several private Ancestry Trees where Joseph was linked as the husband of Abigail THOMPSON.  My research showed that those trees had largely used other Ancestry Trees and that there were no original sources to back up this information.  One tree had census records posted from 1850 for both Joseph and Abigail Thompson, but apparently they didn't look at them very closely because Joseph spent his whole life in Waitsfield, VT, and was listed as a resident there in the 1850 census.  Abigail Thompson, on the other hand, appears to have spent her whole life in Massachusetts and is listed as residing in Massachusetts in 1850.

I have sent messages to as many of the Ancestry folks as possible asking them to contact me...Bottom line is that I'm afraid that someone will come in new and change my profile.

If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it.

PPP will keep the LNAB from changing, but anything else can and may be changed/altered.

As long as you are the PM of the profile, you will be notified if there are any changes..

Actually it protects the LNAB and prevents parents from being removed or added.  I added it to your profile which must be done in connection with a project so I added the profile to Southern Colonies and added the project as a PM which will discourage any changes with a warning notice whenever anyone hits edit. I will also see any changes in my feed each day and will watch for spouses being removed.  This will make a difference.

Thank you! I wonder how many people will be counfused by the southern colonies label since the profile is clearly for people who lived in Vermont and if I'm not mistaken, when Vermont was a Republic, but  I appreciate your taking this profile under your wing, so to speak!

Thanks

Ginni
Yes I thought of that. Check with the US History project. They may can take it over.  You must have a project to have PPP.
The project was set up to be quite expansive. Check out the map and you will see you are covered:

Thanks for your help, Paula!  The profile is now under the US History project protection.  I appreciate your assistance in pointing me in the right direction.

The real protection is having the project profile as manager. That allows the project manager to intervene if changes are being made to the data, other relationships or bio.  It can make a huge difference if multiple changes are being made one after the other.  You can replace the Southern Colonies profile with the US History one as PM. I will remove the Southern Colonies one for you.

That doesn't help me much if someone removes his three wives and all of the children.  Is there a cache that the original profile will go into in the event of the profile being drastically altered?
