Question

I am looking for the parents names of my Great-Grandmother "Lillian Wood".

 She was born about 1875 & she died in 1938 (I'm not actually sure when she was born or when she died. It was merely a guess).

She was married to James Seymour Harris on April 3, 1899 in London, England (It's a little difficult to read the location, on a record from ancestry.ca but I wrote, what I think it says).

My grt grt aunt was Lillian wood . Lillian Mae I think.  However her husband was a standish. Born and died in Massachusetts . They had a daughter Lillian but she died as a baby. Brother of Lillian I am descended from is Mayo.  Don't need to tell you Wood is a very hard name to trace. Always a possibility of relationship , they  appeared to repeat names through generations. Good luck. Parents of my Lillian were Pliny wood and Elizabeth Dove.

The 1921 Canadian Census has her living with her husband and their son Frank and daughter Lillian in Guelph on 41 London Rd. She was born about 1880 in England, and both of her parents were also from England. She came to Canada in 1905. As per the census, her husband also came over in 1905.

She married her husband in the spring of 1899, as per the England & Wales, Civil Registration Marriage Index,1837-1915, on Ancestry. Their marriage was registered in the West Ham district of Essex in England. This further supports the idea that Lillian came to Canada with her husband, which also means there's a chance that in the passenger lists or immigration and naturalization records, she may be listed as "Lillian Harris."

The most likely candidate is Lilian Beatrice Wood born Peckham, Surrey in 1880.

Her mother Mary Elizabeth was allegedly Mary Elizabeth Wild who is said to have married Thomas Henry Wood, whose death occured in 1880. This latter comment is taken from a tree in Ancestry.uk, but unfortunately I have been unable to confirm.

Interestingly, James Seymour Harris was staying with his mother, Sarah, in West Ham, 1901. Married but no sign of Lilian.

You never know what might have happened, regarding the census -- if he was living with his mother while she was ill and having trouble caring for herself, and it happened to be the year of the census, then that's where it'd show he lives!

It appears that Mary Elizabeth Wild first married Thomas Henry Wood and then married Robert Isaac Joshua Terry on 6 August 1883, which explains the different last names for Mary on the census..
