He came here to NY, lived on 16th St. in Brooklyn, and also had Art business in Manhattan where he died. He married an Irish woman Sara Elizabeth ( possibly Higgins by what my Grandmother told me) and they had a daughter Sara Elizabeth who married Phillip Williams Marett. Mr. Hanson was a landscape Artist and into horticulture, variety of Lilly is named for him.

Kimberly,

If you haven't already checked out family search, it has many records and genealogy listings that you may find helpful in your search. I found the following 1870 Census for Peter Hanson. His wife is listed as Sarah Hanson from Ireland, an Elizabeth Hanson, presumably their daughter and a Rose Higgins. There is a copy of the Census that you can print and FamilySearch.org is Free if you decide you'd like to have access to or create your genealogy records. If I can help you with anything else, please let me know.
