Your question is a bit vague.  But since Hammond is likely of French origin it would be quite possible there would have been Hammonds moving to the Mobile area of Alabama in the beginning of the eighteenth century, check-out this Wikipedia article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Mobile,_Alabama.  Otherwise, since Hammond is not an unusual name, there would surely be families named Hammond arriving with the influx of settlers after the "Indian Wars" of about 1814 to other parts of what is now the state of Alabama.
Further to what Vincent asks, where did your Hammonds move from?

I have Hammonds in my limbs who lived in upstate South Carolina - Pickens and Greenville Counties. Sometimes if you know where they were before the move you can find them. Often times early settlers had to have paper work to move through Native American lands to settle further west.

My 4th great-grandfather, Phillip Hamman Sr. (spelling of the last name varies greatly) moved from Kentucky to Jackson County, Alabama in 1821. If you may be related to him maybe I can help you. My e-mail address is tpgrose@yahoo.com
