yes. joseph was born in berkely county, west virginia. his father was ishmael, his mother, maria crown. my goal is to find ishmaels parents and siblings.

thanks. i enjoy the site also. unfortunately there are no records that i can locate on the site that answer the mystery. ishmael b. 2-14-1788, is on the site. but, there is not enough info there.

There was a Joseph Barnes (no profile on Wikitree) who migrated to Haywood County, North Carolina but where he came from is unknown. He died in about 1834.  There is a discussion of some of his descendants on the forum of the website at https://CompetitiveStrategies.us.  You have to register to participate in the forum in order to avoid spamming the website.  This process takes about 24 hours.
