Just two days after the sinking of the Titanic, these newsboys work through the night to sell out of their "Extra" allotment. Their names are not given but their ages are 10, 11 and 12 on G Street near 14th. Photographer: Lewis Hine; Repository: US National Archives

When I look at this three boys selling news about titanic, it is really sad what happen 2 days befor about the titanic ship.

How different from today, 3 so very young boys would sell news, today they would sit with there computer because someone would take care of them. But at those days it was not very easy. I like to thank you so much for sharing this lovely history photo
Since newspapers were how people received updates, there were several issues published per day in major cities. Many children worked to supplement the family income then. Very different times. Thanks for your comments, Susan.

Thank you for sharing this picture.  I am currently working on the Titanic Project here.  It is fascinating looking at a snapshot of history and how people lived during that period of time.

Hi James. I tried to connect the photo with the Titanic Project above the Tags but was unsuccessful at the task, so I added the link above the photo itself with See also. Some of the most alarming photos/stories of this time period that I may share more of are of the children workers, some as young as three years old. Others working six hours per day during the school week plus Saturday. Thanks for contributing.

James, updated links to your project.

Thank you Rod.  I also added  your link here too.   At the bottom, Other Helpful Links.

Wow, James! I didn't expect that. This could be considered collaboration by some. /:-) Cheers!
