James Stewart Miller b. abt. 1825 and wife Nancy Davis probably lived and died in Alexander County Illinois but may have been born elsewhere. Possibly Virginia or North Carolina. Though I can't be certain. They are listed somewhere with children and more exact dates but I can't locate where.

Your "brickwall", that place where no sources are displayed, seem to start at your father's profile.  It would be optimum to start on that profile and add sources until you reach the generation in question.
I have everything on my Miller line up to the brick wall of James Stewart Miller b. abt 1825 and wife Nancy Davis. I can't get any further. I've been pulling my hair over this for more than two years. I provided the little chunks of information I have managed to come up with so far.

Thanks. I really appreciate your help. This has helped a lot. Now maybe some doors will open in my search. Now that I've located his parents being born in South Carolina I wonder how I find them in census and other resources?

Regards,

Steve Miller
