Question about Sir Thomas Denton,

I know to take Wikipedia with a grain or three of salt, but I am trying to find out who the father of Isabel Denton Halsted was. At first I had it as Thomas, based on what I could find in the original records. Then I came here and saw we have it as John, both supposedly sons of Richard. I googled Thomas's name and this is what I found. The piece states that their father was actually Alexander. The article also concurs that Thomas's wife was Susan Temple, but has him in Buckinhamshire. Our little group should hail from Halifax, Yorkshire. What what?
Reading the original christening records is, to say the least, challenging!
Any help straightening this one out would be greatly appreciated.
