The Nicolaas connection is interesting, who was his first wife? My great-grandfather was born in Caledon estimated 1870 which is next door to Napier.  There has to be a family connection

hi Pamela, I cannot find the name of the first wife of Nicolaas Daniel Geldenhuys, my grandfather,(1881 - 1957) His gravestone and that of his first wife, Elizabeth Helena (born de Kock) is in Napier graveyard. The first wife died in 1912 of a lung sickness after they were married a short while.

I cannot find any ancestors beyond Nicolaas Daniel Geldenhuys my great grandfather, married to Johanna Swart.

I found my family connections, I now have the Geldenhuys book which is on My Heritage. The name Nicholaas came into the Geldenhuys family from the Swart family. The swart family are totally intergrated with the Geldenhuys family as are the Fourie, mathee, Groenewaldt who were all living in the Caledon area. the lung sickness was TB. So many people died from it , almost unbelievable.
