   ALEXANDER GEORGE ARBUTHNOT. Born c.1745. Possibly he who was born 1748. A native of Montrose (per Poulson's American Daily Advertiser Philadelphia 23 Feb 1819). Emigrated to Florida 1803 to trade with the Seminole Indians and represent their cause to the English. Illegally tried and hanged by General Andrew Jackson 29 April 1818. Married Mary Ann ______ and had two sons: John James Arbuthnot and R. Arbuthnot.
