What to do about same-surname people I don't recognize when their profile info is private?

Should I follow up on all the reports of people with my surname?  The family has many branches we've lost touch with, but most of the profiles are private.  Should I email the profile managers with my family info and ask if they recognize any of it?

Hey Lynn,

If the profile is private, you can still send a note to the profile manager and ask questions about the profile to figure out if it connects to one of your limbs.
