Seeking any information on father of Howard Leonard WALKER born 28 December 1905 in Oklahoma; although most records state he was born in Arkansas. He was raised at St. Joseph Orphanage in North Little Rock, Arkansas. I have all the records St. Joseph has on him and it doesn't provide his father's name.

His mother was [[Pickett-1115|Allie Pickett]] and to the best of my knowledge she was born c1886 in TEXAS, daughter of James Mitchell Pickett and Sarah J. Hester, who were from Lincoln County, Tennessee.

I have a marriage record for James E. WALKER, born c1879 and Allie Pickett in Southern District of Indian Territory in 1901. James WALKER is not living in the home with Allie Pickett and little Howard in 1910.

What happened to James Walker?? Is he the father of Howard Leonard Walker?? Who is James E. WALKER?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions or guidance!

Thanks for responding. My Allie was white and hopefully, she didn't have a baby at age 3 as Howard was born in 1905. I tried to place a little smiley face here, but it didn't accept it. Again, thanks for responding to my questions.

How do you Allie Pickett was his mother. Most States would put

a lock on his Mother and Father. But Howard Leonard Walker born

Dec 28 1905.He died in South Carolina.Since he died, and if you are related

Arkansas will release his parents names. But you have to get all your

records notarized, and it is best if you go to Arkansas Vital Records in

person.Call them first and ask for what you need.

Thanks for responding. I appreciate you taking the time to review this case.

Howard remembered being in the orphanage and at some point he needed information about his time there so he and his daughter went to St. Joseph Orphanage and obtained his records. His records weren't sealed as he wasn't adopted. My mother-in-law has the records and his mother is listed as Allie Pickett.
