Do you have a big tree but no connection?

I'm really impressed with how large some ancestral trees are in WikiTree but don't connect to WikiTree's Global Family Tree.  For example some the Acadian ancestries http://www.wikitree.com/treewidget/Arsenault-64/5 and Latin American ones http://www.wikitree.com/treewidget/Morones-88/5 get back to Europe but still don't connect (via parental descent and not simply relationships due to marriage of a sibling).

Can you point to an Acadian or Latin American line which does connect?  (i.e. descends from http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Carolingian-77 )

This begs the question, what is the largest ancestry in WikiTree which is not WikiTree's Global Family Tree?

Thanks and sincerely, Peter

Dunno about Acadians, but not a lot of family historians in England claim traceable descents from Charlemagne.  Royal ancestry is much more common in America.

:-D

Thanks, RJ.

I shall be deliberately controversial, although totally believe in the belief of a "One" world wide tree and the mission of Wikitree.

Connection to the tree is based within 100 steps of two USA born individuals, frankly unknown, and Queen Elizabeth 2.

That would suggest, hopefully I am wrong, the tree is based on a USA based family tree with everbody else attaching, providing you are connected within 100 steps to these unknowns & QE2. If that is so, it is wrong!

USA is the "New World", where many emigrated for a new life.

Researchers, I suspect, in  Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Africa, and other parts of the world will not be able to connect to these unknowns & QE2.

Proven "Lead" connectors throughout the globe need to be established.

No doubt, I will receive a down vote, but first think about it

Hello Ron,

I'm referring to ancestry and descent (some call it blood).  Not via a marriage of a sibling of an ancestor which is what the connection to QE2 includes.

Thanks and sincerely,

I am of Acadian descent in both my paternal maternal lines. My ancestral names include Broussard, Dupuis, Breau, Bourgeois and many others. So far I've entered more than twenty generations, but I have many remaining.

Very few of the first Acadians have successfully been tracked back to France, but there are some.

Take a look at my tree and maybe it will be helpful to you. Good luck.

Thanks Tom,

Like others with Acadian ancestry I'm not finding an ancestral connection with WikiTree's Global Family Tree.

Sincerely, Peter
