Is David Bowie in WikiTree?

I created a profile for him a year ago during the Notevember promotion for notables. I did not pursue his ancestry.

Hard to believe it's been forty-four years since I first became a fan of Bowie!  Everybody had a copy of the Ziggy Stardust album.  I was lucky enough to see the Glass Spider Tour in 87, once in Rotterdam and a few months later in Tampa, Florida.  And one time I was at a small venue in Amsterdam and there were a bunch of people saying it was just announced David Bowie would be playing there the next night and tickets were about to go on sale.  I didn't believe it of course and the next day when I told some colleagues they said it was true and sure enough, that night David Bowie played the Paradiso to about 600 people (of which I missed my chance to be one of them).  Fortunately there was a giant projection screen set up on the musuem plein and about 10,000 people came and watched the performance that way for free.  Oh well, it was also good.

Very cool Vincent....I was very lucky to see him at the Tower Theater in Philadelphia in 1974 when he was recording an album from that performance.

I'm jealous, Vincent! I wish I had had the opportunity to see him in person. I still have my Ziggy Stardust album, which will always remain my favorite Bowie work.

I wish I could have seen him in 1974, by 1987 it already felt like a sort of "has been" tour but was still great shows.  I had the 8-track tape for Ziggy Stardust.  It fell victim to heat a few years later when I stored all my 8-tracks at a house in the woods we had with plans to adorn a wall with all my 8-tracks as a sort of wallpaper.  Unfortunately the heat melted a little wheel in every one of those tapes and caused a black, sticky, tar-like mess on all of them which not only rendered them unplayable but an unsightly mess as well.  I discarded them unfortunately.

We are lucky enough to have small postcard sized piece of his artwork from 1999.We got it for £20 at the The Royal College of Art secret (an annual exhibition of postcards some by famous artists, others by students but you buy blind as the signature is on the back) It used to be an annual pilgrimage for us go to the exhibition a few days before, draw up a list of pictures we wanted and then to queue overnight  in the hope that we might be able to get a couple on our list. I was thrilled to find that he had contributed this one ( I opened the frame to check on the date yesterday and for the first time realised that his written the name of Artist as David Bowie but his signature is Ziggy)
