I was trying to straighten out the Farley line BUT somehow wound up with several being their own sibling. I am afraid that if I remove a parent as it says to that I will lose the parent and maybe both copies of the sibling? Can anyone tell me how to  remove a sibling and not destroy everything. HELP

Milton,

Please let me know what you need done.  I am sort of well versed in this line and already sent you a note.  I can assist, but I do believe that most of these that you manage have very inaccurate dates and are "closed" so that they are not able to be edited by anyone except a profile manager (and in this case, you).  I'll send trusted requests to assist and will walk you through the process so you can learn as we go.  :)  Nae

Hi Milton and WELCOME to WikiTree!

I'll be glad to help you get it straightened out.  I looked at Sarah Susan Sally Farley that you have linked and see the siblings.  Can you tell me if these are all the same person?  If so (as I suspect) then we don't want to disconnect the parents from any of them.  Instead, we want to merge the duplicate profiles.

I'll wait for your answer before doing anything.

Milton,

I see that you merged Sarah Susan Sally Farley with one duplicate, but I also found 2 other duplicates of her.  Please see my comment on her profile about merging these.  One of the duplicates is a rejected match - I don't know why, but these appear to be duplicates.

I also see that you disconnected Steven from the parents, leaving Stephen still connected.  I also see that Stephen has a different father than Steven.  Steven's father is private, so no information about him can be seen.  Since he is no longer living, his profile must be opened.  If you are the manager of it, please change the privacy level so that we can see if he is a duplicate of Stephen's father.  I am proposing a merge for Steven and Stephen.

I'm now looking at all the other siblings for duplicates and will post more here as I find it.
Milton,

I see that you also disconnected Mary A. Farley-1645 from the mother.  Her father is also the same private person as Steven's father.  You also have her born in 1840's and died in 2500's.  Please change that death year and also change the privacy of the profile to open (white) or public (green).

There is a rejected match between Mary A. and Mary Ann Farley-1657, but I suspect that these profiles are duplicates and should be merged.
Milton,

You have David E Farley-1646 as the father of some of these siblings.  He was born in the 1780's and does not have a death date.  WikiTree requires that anyone born 200 years ago or earlier must have open (white) privacy.  Please change David's privacy to open.
Milton,

I see that George, Martha, Houston, Leticia, and Polly all have the same situation as Steven/Stephen and Mary.  One set has the private father, death date of the 2500's, and rejected match to the duplicate.  All this needs to be changed and the duplicates need to be merged.

As long as you the parents' profiles are on Wikitree, you cannot lose them.  You need to merge the profile for one person into the other.  This will create a single profile.
