Have you tried putting their names in www.familysearch.org
Yes, I have.....I have found quite a few on there, as well as Ancestry.  Just be interesting to find out more if I can.  I got an email from 1 Blankenship the first day I signed up here, one that I didn't know about.   :)
Hi Shirley,

We might be more help to you if you listed a time period and some first names, relationships, etc.

Have you searched here?  Try "Find" then try 'Surnames' and 'PeopleSearch' .  Those searches may provide something for you.
Thank you.   I will try that.  Wiki it very confusing sometimes.   -_-

Hi Shirley,

As you likely all ready know there are currently 2119 Blankenship profiles on WikiTree (several in West Virginia).  I found this by just entering the last name into the search box located on your profile. It went to http://www.wikitree.com/genealogy/Blankenship

I much prefer using FamilySearch.org over other sites because I can see where the original info came from.  There is a multitude of reiterated non-sense that can be found on so many sites.  Public trees at Ancestry and other sites seldom have verifiable sources tied to them. Isn't finding the truth instead of jibberish what you prefer?

Hello Shirley . My Great Grandmother was Louise Strausie (Blankenship-1277)- born in 1887 inCraigsville , Nicholas County West Virginia ,died 1967 same place .Louise went by the name Opal . I know she had two sister's .........I think she had two sister's. She married into the Herold family .  Her father was Thomas Wesley (Blankenship-1284) , born 1855 in Tazewell , Virginia . Died -1930 in Craigsville , Nicholas County , West virginia . Have you tried the West Virginia Cultural site ? or Sortbyname ?

www.wvculture.com and Look for Birth ,death, marriage records . You can look by state or by county . Be sure to use various spelling because the transcribers missinterpeted alot of spelling , so I've found . I found one of my G,G,Grandmother whose maiden name was Moore , Found it under Moon ? another good site for West Virginia is , www.sortedbyname.com . I do have other Blankenship info not on here yet . I'll try to track down all of Opal's Sibling's and get them on here .

Good luck on your search .

Regards , Robert C. Patterson.
