Question

Looking for first spouse of John Butler.  I have no idea who she is; have had no clues.  I do know that she is NOT Mary Roatseener.  John was born 22 DEC 1786 • Bedford County Pennsylvania; emigrated to Ohio, first historical evidence of residence in Ohio is the birth of Elizabeth/Eliza Butler in 1819.  Children born in Pennsylvania from this marriage are Sarah Butler (Married a David Grubb in Knox County, Ohio; Anna Ruth Butler (married a Mathias Grubb in Knox County Ohio-cannot find records for this yet); Levi Butler (married Julia Ann Grove).  Elizabeth or Eliza was born in Ohio and married Joel Blakeley in Knox County, Ohio.   I think the mother of these children died in Ohio as probate records indicate John and two other people were appointed guardians of these children in 1829.  I have been searching for about 2 years and cannot find any historical data about this woman or their marriage.  John's second wife and mother of 11 additional children was Mary Lindsey, b. 13 OCT 1799 • Bedford, Bedford, Pennsylvania.

Yep, I've been researching this for the last two years and I've not left a stone that I know about unturned.  This is one of my brick walls.  Just returned from researching two days at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City and I'm planning a trip to Ohio and possible Pennsylvania later this year.
