The One Place Study Project and the Collaborative Profile of the Week present

Charles Morgan (1781-1866)

Charles is from the Eastern Sangamon County Townships One Place Study.

I noticed several texts that had articles on Charles, although some of them may be on his son Charles. Let’s start by putting links to some sources on his page.

Unless he has a surprise somewhere in his life, he’s going to have a pretty basic bio. A suggestion might be to flesh it out with information about the places he lived and the type of life he may have led.

He had at least one child, Charles. Charles Jr. seems to have been a temperance man. Let’s build profiles for Charles Jr. and other children of Charles Sr.

I’m pretty sure he had parents too. Can they be discovered and added?

Charles’ wife Elizabeth Constant, has lots of data, but no sources. Can some sources be found to support the data on her page?

Let’s show everyone what a great collaborative place WikiTree is! When you start to work on some aspect of the profile, post an answer here first to let us know what you're going to work on. That way we won't duplicate work and the question will stay fresh (toward the top) of the G2G forum.

The One Place Study Project.

The One Place Study Project  at WikiTree was begun by Lianne Lavoie on September 3, 2014. The project was inspired by the Society for One-Place Studies and the Register of One-Place Studies organizations. A One Place Study focuses on a particular place and its past, its people, its local history and population patterns. It ties into genealogy because the research of ancestors in their place is usually alive with interactions and events with other people in the same location. We have 32 members. If you are interested in joining, contact Lianne Lavoie or Maggie N.

Thank you

Note: If it looks like I'm ignoring this for the next few days. I may be without internet access. I'll be back Friday and will smooth things out, if they need it. Otherwise have fun everyone. AnneB

Thanks, Doug. It's a hard one to trace back as a lot of Morgan families were from Hampshire County in Virginia. I did find a brother that migrated with them to Illinois

Thanks Maggie
