I can add a to the profile of Cornelius Manning. This is who I can add:

  • John Manning

These are the sources I am using:

  • Early Colonial Settlers of Southern Maryland and Virginia's Northern Neck Counties
  • Should I contact one of the pre-1700 projects or know about any style guidelines before proceeding? Thank you!

The” Early Colonial Settlers” website is a handy reference/collection of source material, but many of the items listed are from abstracts, not the original documents so whenever possible the original should be located and cited.  There is also a lot of speculation about relationships which are not supported by documentation.

YES - contact a pre-1700 project lead because:

1) There's a MERGER issue. See Ms Shannon's Comment 1 at the bottom of Cornelius' profile, and

2) You have a style issue, i.e. correct presentation of the information. So, the complete text of the WILL should appear in its own section (== Will ==), not entirely in the footnote. Change the format to make it readable, in other words.

Also, you have cited the original volume for the Will. Great! But how can we find it online?  If it is not online but printed in another volume, what are all the citation specs for that volume?

Then do with John Manning what you think you should. Is Cornelius' father, sibling, child or what?

To be fair, the formatting is all in the original import.
OK. Change it to make it look like other Wiki profiles. Input is one thing in creating the profile. Presentation is the next step. Having pointed how the will should be, I will make the change. See what you think.

Well, once-in, easier to do all of it. Use the edit function yourself to see the guts of the formatting.
