On my family tree is there anyway to add the common numbering system?

Question

On my family tree which starts with me. Is there anyway to add the common numbering system? (I am number one; father is two; mother is three, etc.) Some lines of my tree get pretty long. And people have similar names. It would help me navigate if my wikiTree family tree/pedigree chart had the conventional numbering system so I could compare numbers with my printed charts. Thanks.

I don't know if it'll help you, but I also keep printable spread sheets with the major data items of profiled people, and for direct ancestors I find it useful to maintain a column of ahnentafel numbers alongside the WikiTree ID numbers.

Thanks for the idea. I should have thought of this! I already have an ahnentafel on Excel with a column for pedigree chart number(s) so it will be easy to add a column for WikTree ID numbers and print it out.

If you go to your own profile then you should see a row of tabs near the top, one of which is labelled "Tree Apps". Click on that and in the box labelled "TREE APP" click on the arrow and select "AHNENTAFEL ANCESTOR LIST". Press the "GO" button and that will produce a numbered list of your ancestors.

That's good to know, but I like Dennis' idea better. It will be easier to refer to a printed ahnentafel/WikiTree ID list next to my computer rather than to switch tabs back and forth on Wikitree's long ahnentafel list. (Especially since WikiTree's ahnentafel doesn't show the WikiTree ID numbers without clicking on a name!) It seems to me that it would be easy to program the computler to toggle on/off the ahnentafel numbers on one's own ancestry profile.  What would be perfect would be for the computer to list both numbers (ahnentafel with WikiTree ID in parentheses.) I offer this as a suggestion for improvement.
