This is the application of a man named James Sizemore. James was the son of John J Sizemore and Elizabeth Reynolds. He stated that he was born in Carter County, TN and at the time he filed his application for a share of the Eastern Cherokee payment was living in Buncombe, N.C. He stated that his father was born in Granville, S.C. and his mother in Buncombe, N.C. He further stated that in 1851 his parents were living in Carter County, Tennessee.
He gave December 24 1905 (possibly 1903, hard to decipher) as his father's death date, October, 1856 as his mothers.
He named six siblings, Thomas, Sallie, Martha, Alfred, Nathaniel, and Wiley. Martha had died by 1907, the others were living.
He only knew the names of two grandparents, Jesse Sizemore on his father's side (whom he claimed had lived to be 115 and died in the early 1840's) and Sooky Toney on his mother's side. He listed his father's siblings as Ephraim, Edward, Alfred, and William, all of Granville, S.C. and all also dead by 1907.
