How do I engage with the Women's Auxiliary Air Force sub-category?

I'd like to find some of the people my mother used to speak of about her time in the WAAF. Her name isn't in the list* yet, nor any I recognise. She was an Australian in England so that complicated finding her military records, though I have 1 or 2 now. I'm not sure how to engage with the existing WAAF sub-category to form up this smaller group of friends. E.g., could I begin in a free-space profile while I'm locating them? Any advice welcome.

You just need to add the category to her profile via the category tag [[Category:Women's Auxiliary Air Force]]. If you create other profiles of her WAAF friends, add it to theirs as well. If you know her specific unit, that would also be a category to add to her profile. If that unit hasn't been created, we can create it.

Here's an example: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Standing-274 Winifred was in the WAAF and served in the 953rd Balloon Squadron.
