What is the best way to add sources from Metrical church records when they have not yet been transcribed?

I have many 'greats' and related family members whose only documented sources are through the Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine. These are baptismal and wedding records made available through Family Search and require searching page by page to locate surnames in specific parishes. The records are not yet transcribed.

For now, I have used the Family Search link which takes you to a site where you can view the particular page I have identified as the source page.

Is this method acceptable, given there are no other options at the moment.

Thanks for any input.

Here is an example: A record which identifies my great grandparents, Paul Deputan and Anastasia Bodnar, their newly born son Stephanus, and the parents of the couple.

The Metrical record is for the Greek Catholic parish of Zwiniach, Chorkiw, Austria.

This link from the Evidence Explained website gives guidance on how to cite microfilm from the FHL. I would not use the url of the particular image of interest as the citation, but rather describe the record following EE guidance. The url can certainly be included as a convenience to finding the record in the future, but always keep in mind that web citations are subject to change. Edit

Lorraine posted a good answer while I was working on my comment. The only thing I would suggest is adding a page or folio number.

Thank you for mentioning the evidence explained link - I don't recall coming across it when I was a 'newbie'. Much appreciated.
George - I just reviewed the EE site - very informative and have bookmarked it for future reference.

I actually bought a copy of EE a couple of years back, definitely not exciting reading, but I do look up things there from time to time. It is well suited to my pedagogical nature.

I gave away most of my university research reference materials so many years ago but your link is a good one and won't take up any space on my bookshelves.
Good suggestion George!

When you are on the image look at the bottom of that page. There is a tab called information. I like to use the text there to identify the information in my citation. The following would be the way I would cite it;

*"Birth Registration", FamilySearch,
Unindexed FS [https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSSV-K3V5 Record], accessed 2024-04-22,
Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine, Metrical Books, Item# 2, Vol. 487-1/385 Births 1875-1918, Marriages 1903-1914, Deaths 1896-1914, Stephanius Deputan, birth:1898

Basic components of above;

Title of Document, Source, Internet Link, access date, where record is located in document, Details/Transcript of record.

You can copy this citation (if you want) into your profile to see how it looks.
Thank you Lorraine, for your input and taking the time to craft a citation that is more informative, which is what I wanted to include. I have added it to Jacob Deputan's sources and will do so for the other family members referenced.

Much appreciated.
Your welcome, glad it helped. Thanks for the best answer!
