G2G: Where did the "My Feed" Most Recent Activity and Link Go?

Sometime during the past week to 10 days G2G's presentation of Questions bearing "followed" tags (the "My Feed" menu option) stopped showing the last activity and associated link (e.g., new comment or answer added) and instead now shows only the date of the original question and who asked it. The only link goes to that original Question.

A result in my own feed list is, for example, items like this:

Are you a MURRAY, or a member of an Allied Family?
asked Jan 27, 2021

That's a topic that's had 30 answers and 15 comments across two pages. That's the oldest in the current bunch, but I have others dating back to 2022. And the most active in the group spans 7 pages of responses.

Why did the display of, and associated link to, the most recent addition to the Questions go away? And can we get it back?

It simply isn't viable to go scrolling through 7 pages of material checking all the post times to try to find the recent addition. I know in my case, and I'm sure in others', that will translate to a lower likelihood that recent answers and comments will be seen.

The "Recent Activity" feed still provides that information, but the listing there includes all tags and subjects and often displays less than the last hour's worth of new activity.

I'm glad you asked this question, Edison. I'd very much like to have last activity link back on the "My Feed" also.
Same here. Thanks for taking it up.
I am also having the same issue. Thank you, Edison, for asking the question.
This occurred with the fix when the feed was “corrected” about ten days ago. We’re now getting the feed for last month up to x number of items but as you say it’s not showing the date and latest reply within a given question. I now have items in the feed with dates some years ago and have scroll a lot to identify the recent reply or answer.

See T's question about the previous behaviour:

Thanks, Jim. I thought the current behavior pre-dated Jamie's reply there, but the timing does seem related.

Just as a visual way to illustrate what I'm talking about with the current change, here is an example of what a "My Feed" followed tag looked like before:

And what the same item looks like now:

The query for that page had to be re-written from scratch to have it display 50 posts or 30 days of activity, so we probably just overlooked that it used to link to the specific comment/answer.
@Jamie, is it going to be restored to the previous way of appearing? As mentioned in the question, it is pretty useless as is, especially where a question has many answers and comments, and you want to see the latest answer/comment to a particular question.
This topic was given the "tracked_bug" tag but there's been no update other than Jamie a week ago noting that it was a function that was "just overlooked" in a recent code edit.

It isn't a "bug." It's something that a recent WikiTree code edit broke.

By word count, I believe I'm the most prolific contributor to G2G. Without this being corrected I can't identify what/when followed G2G tagged topics have received new posts.

Not that anyone will miss my bloviations about genetics and genealogy, but is there any intention to correct what the "just overlooked" change broke?
I also would love to know what is happening, the "My Feed" is useless to us as it is.
I've posted again in Discord to see if we get an answer.
Tracked_bug means that it's on the list for action. This is not drop-dead urgent, so it probably isn't top-priority. However, if it's any easy fix, it may happen soon.
> It isn't a "bug." It's something that a recent WikiTree code edit broke.

Generally, bugs occur when a code change happens. Accidentally removing a feature when fixing something else would be considered a bug.

The posts are ordered with the most recently updated at the top. Yes, you can't click directly to go to the most recent comment, but you would have to scroll through the post anyway if there was more than one comment since you last checked.

I put it back in the queue the same day I posted here, but there were much more urgent things needing to be worked on this week.

Zero change, zero resolution.

Please tell me when it is fair game to explode without disrespecting Wikitree.

I'm not going to explode. I have read Jamie's comments and respect that a lot of work is being done by one person.
