Question

Category:Glen Allan Union Cemetery, Mapleton, Ontario appears to be incorrect. The village of Mapleton is 12 km from the cemetery. The cemetery is in the village of Glen Allan, Wellington, Ontario. See Find a Grave. I have been there and it is not in Mapleton.

I have a number of relatives buried in Glen Allan Union but will not add the category until the place is correct.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

As I am sure you are aware, since the amalgamation of municipalities that took place over the late 90's and early 2000's, there are a number of ways to "correctly name" locations.

I have renamed the category to reflect the cemetery location in the Village of Glen Allan. The location category of Mapleton will stand as that is the current municipality that Glen Allan is part of. I have left notes to this end on the category as well.

Please let me know directly if there are any other concerns you have with this or any of the other Ontario cemeteries.
