His Wikitree profile has him associated as a son of William Smith and Ella Logue.

This present Wikitree profiles for his parents were ones I entered. I saw a document saying his mother was Ellen.I assumed her last name was Logue by  Samuel Logue giving land to his grandson William Smith. I'm speculating that the William Smith b.1743 and living in the bath County Virginia area was his father. I believe the William Smith b.1743  was married more than one time, possibly Ellen Logue.

Thanks for any help!
