I was going over last names Arthur for Friday  Date Night. I came up with 9 orphans. Ethel Arthur was added to the Coldwell family. Why Arthur last name? Plus I wanted to back track to see where she was in "her family" census" Not found. Then I check out Charles Coldwell No dates no Wikitree ID. also Private. It reads Coldwell-370 created 28 Feb 2010. Why no Wikitree ID?? I was just wondrering. I check out Coldwell-370 just like Charles Coldwell NO dates no bio nothing.

Charles Coldwell does have a WikiTree ID it is Coldwell-370 as you said. It is also orphaned / has no profile manager

Looking at his profile it is redlocked, which means it cannot be adopted or edited.

If you want to adopt it even temporarily and click on Adopt this person, this message pops up.

The profile is not public so it cannot be adopted. Please contact info@wikitree.com if you would like to adopt it.

My guess is that when the profile was created and last edited in 2010 someone felt there was a reason to keep it private, or did not understand at the time what a redlock meant.

You can find him, that is name and ID on person search, the list shows DNA results on his entry.

tyvm for your explanation on my  Caldwell doesn’t have a wikitree ID but Caldwell-350 does.  i might want to adopt him with the rest of his family all orphaned.
Keep in mind also, in 2010 WikiTree was very much in its infancy. There were things allowed then that aren't allowed now. It might have fallen thru the cracks.
Rob, I have often wondered how different the 'rules' were back then and what PMs could enter on a profile.

A while back I ran into 2 profiles that were created in 2015, the couple were entered as living when the profiles were created. The problem was that they would have been have been 137 and 142 if they were still alive in 2015 when the profiles were created.
