Eclipse of 1806, known as ‘Tecumseh’s Eclipse’

Hi Wikitreers,

As the approach of the Solar Eclipse is now upon the United States we anticipate its approach some with superstition others just curiosity.

However this article might interest every genealogist who finds Native American history and culture of interest

See The last over 4-minute-long ‘total solar eclipse’ in the US was used by Tecumseh to unite indigenous Americans

Any thoughts of comments?

Some consider the eclipse a bad omen but it appears for many native cultures a time of mourning…

Thank you

Cherokee people see a giant frog trying to eat the sun.  As Cherokee it is our responsibility to get outside and make as much noise as we can to scare the frog away.  Other tribes see an eclipse as a time for personal reflection and meditation.

It’s begun here at 2:12 pm eastern time…
Interesting we felt “eclipse sickness” odd I guess some feel it yet never looked at it birds got quiet and it was a bluish darkness here odd light covered us now we coming out of it…strange phenomenon

Our symptoms were dizzy disorientation like motion sickness and my relative had a headache slight nausea. The big one was dizzy feeling…wow

I read more about the legend and it’s very fascinating laugh
