Just looking at the cited page in 'Genealogy of the family of Forbes' it doesn't appear to be very reliable.  It certainly doesn't cite any primary sources to support the genealogy.

Although I appreciate the birth dates of the two profiles are estimated, there is a gap of 38 years between one and the other and I suspect that the birth date of Forbes-4724 of about 1468 could be underestimated, given he died before 1560.  Though again there doesn't seem to be any explanation of why either of these dates was chosen.

Personally I think there needs to be much more research into this family line or lines before any merge is approved.  Many of the profiles appear to be sourced solely by the 'Genealogy of the family of Forbes'.

The profiles have to be in a proposed merge for over 30 days before anyone can merge them.  They are currently in an unmerged match.

Forbes-4724 says he is William 'of Towie, b 1468

Forbes-2281 says he is William 'of Drumallachie', b 1430, with a child b abt 1475.  That person would be a generation older than Forbes-4724, based on birthdates and children ages.
